Pinterest is such a great place for inspiration!!!  Photography poses, recipes, weight loss motivation, DIY projects, quotes…you name it!!

Her eyes were dialated, so I took a photo of each pair so that she could put back on her current glasses, and look at the back of the camera to see what she looked like in each pair! (if you’ve ever had your eyes dialated, you know you cannot SEE anything with your glasses off!).   We had a blast and she picked out some REALLY cute frames!!  We will get them in about a week.

I searched Craigslist for fun yesterday, since Abby has been wanting a guinea pig, but we told her it had to be after Alice died.  So yeah, she didn’t wait long before wanting to look for a piggie.  I ended up finding 2 pigs on craigstlist.   She had EVERYTHING, cage, food, toys, etc, and the 2 pigs, all for a rehoming fee of only $20. Well, the cage alone is about $70 so we knew we coudn’t pass it up.   I emailed her with questions and we went back and forth discussing their behaviors, size of the cage, etc.  We settled on taking them and this morning she brought them over.  They are so cute!! Hermes, is the older, larger one, he’s about 4 yrs old and Dexter is the younger, smaller one, he’s only about a year old.  They haven’t been in the cage much at ALL LOL!  Abby is obsessed with them.  I hope it lasts.  I hope that in a month or 2 they don’t loose interest in them.  The dog doesn’t know what to think!! You’ll see that in the photos below.

So, without any more delay…meet Hermes and Dexter!!

When doing the planning for their engagement session, Mellyssa asked me if I would be willing to go to Galena, Il.  I told her of course!!  For those of you who don’t know, Galena is about 2 hours from Iowa City.  I drove first to Manchester where they live and then Mellyssa drove to Galena.    We have had NO SNOW here in Iowa City, it’s been a very unusual winter here, however, Galena had PLENTY!!  There were piles of snow everywhere.  (we have snow in Iowa now, we got some yesterday)

We had to schedule their E-session for the time Dillon was home on leave.  He’s in the military and was only home for a short time over the Christmas break.  So even though it was cold in Galena we had so many beautiful places to go.

Mellyssa’s parents were on their way back from Alabama and met us for lunch and a little bit of shopping and the session.  (They bought me lunch!)  Dillon’s little sister, Crystal also joined us during the shoot.

It was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to their wedding in October of 2012!

This afternoon the kids and I nixed doing History class to get outdoors and soak some of it up!!  So nice!  We took the dog with us and had a nice walk.
